A literary survey of “the most interesting book of the year” organized by the Czechoslovak daily Lidové noviny was one of the most important cultural events in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s and 1940s. The historical edition of this literary survey contains the complete results of this survey from 1928–1941 and 1946–1947. The book contains: chronologically arranged survey answers of individual respondents, a study by editor Lukáš Holeček on the history of the survey, summary of surveys (results, details, interesting facts, bibliography of responses, reception), bibliography of the survey, editorial note, complete indexes.
