Posttraumatické vyprávění. Trauma – literatura – vzpomínka
Posttraumatic narrative: trauma - literature - memory: in order to remember, stories are told.
But how can the experiences of war and mass murder, of prolonged totalitarian repression, or of a nuclear disaster like Chernobyl be told in literature, in stories? Post-traumatic narrative is a means of dealing creatively and emotionally with the ineffability of trauma itself. As a thought experiment, posttraumatic narrative finds its way to the unspeakable in trauma in the form of fictional texts. This is followed by interpretations of Czech, Ukrainian and German texts, which show how post-traumatic narrative is connected to the literary and cultural context. Thanks to interconnectedness and intertextuality, trauma becomes communicable and narratable. It can be inscribed in collective and cultural memory, it can be remembered and thus forgotten.
